Moisture plays a central role in the performance of wood products because it affects important material properties such as resistance to decomposition, mechanical properties, and dimensions. To improve performance, wide range modification techniques that alter chemistry various ways have been described literature. Typically, these modifications aim dimensional stability, or, introduce novel functionalities wood. However, can also be an tool our understanding interactions between moisture.
